📝 Nacho’s Story
Nacho is the definition of a fighter. Found on June 3rd with severe facial injuries, early reports feared he had been hit by a car or survived a harsh animal bite. Recognizing he needed urgent help, his rescuers, Kattie and Leyzabelle (and a few other people from the cat community), stepped in to safely trap and transport him out of danger.
Thanks to their quick action and the incredible medical sponsorship of David Loop and Sierra Pacific Furbabies, Nacho received critical, life-saving care on June 9th.
While his physical scars on his face, neck, and paws show the gravity of what he survived, his spirit remains unbroken. Initially thought to be a feral cat due to how shut down and terrified he was, Nacho has shown his true colors while recovering in foster care: he is not feral, just incredibly scared. He is currently healing beautifully in his foster home with Kattie, where he has already begun opening up, showing a sweet, gentle side, and building a wonderful bond of trust with the person who feeds and cares for him daily.
🩺 Medical Update
Nacho is on the road to recovery! He is already neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all core vaccines and his rabies shot. His neck and paw wounds are currently healing well. During his medical exams, an abscess was also discovered inside his mouth; a biopsy has been performed, and we are currently awaiting the results to ensure he gets any further targeted care he might need.
